Reporting a Bug or Sending Feedback
If something breaks or you want to suggest an improvement, you can file a report without leaving the chat.
This feature may not be available in all setups. If you don't see it, it may not be enabled by your administrator.
Opening the report form
Open Settings and choose Report a Problem in the sidebar. This opens a dialog where you can describe what happened.
Filling out the form
Choose whether you're reporting a Bug or Feedback, then fill in:
- Summary — a short description (required, up to 200 characters)
- Details — more context, if you have it (optional, up to 5000 characters)
- Email — where you can be reached about the report (required; prefilled from your account when available)
Under Include diagnostic info, you can choose to attach:
- Current conversation — the id of the conversation you're currently in
- Browser/OS info — the page URL, browser user agent, platform, screen size, and language
Both are included by default; uncheck either one (or the master toggle) to leave them out.
Submitting
Click Submit. On success, the dialog shows a confirmation with the tracker issue id (linked, if the backend provides a URL) — click Close to dismiss it.
If submission fails, the dialog shows the error returned by the tracker along with a Copy details to clipboard button, so you can pass the details along if you need help.
Where reports go
Reports are filed as issues in the project's issue tracker (Redmine) by whoever set up this feature for your instance. A copy of each report is also kept locally so administrators can review recent submissions.
